Do you mind if we make a little side trip?  I didn't think so.

Being where O’Malley meets Chiana and asks Abberline if he and Kat will be witnesses at their wedding … Willy and Madame meet one of Manouche’s horses, after breathing a huge sigh of relief to find there are no more little Wonkas on the way … DeeDee and Malachi share a little of the ol’ badonkadonk … Kat relinquishes her very interesting interests in Deppville business holdings … Ichy clears the air with Miranda, more or less … still hungry after the Malachi cocktail, DeeDee sets her sights on Charlie … Manouche’s mystic gifts for Chiana arrive at Bournemouth House … Abberline begins searching for The Apparition … and Delano returns Loralee to her vampire status, at her request.

At Bournemouth House:

O’Malley: *Leaves Arwen, going through the forest and across a meadow towards town, carrying a small package.  On her way, she picks some wild flowers and makes a beautiful bouquet.  She reaches town and continues on her way till she reaches Bournemouth House.  She rings the doorbell and waits …*

Miranda *opens the door, and her face falls when she sees O'Malley and not her beloved Ichy, who promised to take her out, but she composes herself quickly and smiles at her*  Hello, who are you looking for?  Please come in and take a seat.  *leads her to the empty living room*

O’Malley:  ‘Ello luv, my name’s Grace O’Malley.  I were ‘opin’ te speak te Kat and Abberline.  I have some presents fer Chiana.  *puts the package on the coffee table*  An’ I also wanted te ask them something.  Are they ‘ome?

Miranda *shyly*  Hi, I am Miranda, I am the housekeeper.  They both were resting, and I am not sure if Kat's still recovered enough, but just a minute, I'll go and fetch the Inspector!  *and she runs lightly up the stairs to Chiana's room, glances at the crib, sees the baby is still asleep, and she cautiously touches Abberline's shoulder*

Abberline *wakes with a start*  How's Chiana?

Miranda:  Don't worry about her, she's sleeping, and Candy will take care of her.  There's a guest in the living room waiting for you.

Abberline:  Oh ..  *starts to go down the stairs and in the middle it occurs to him that he's not even properly clad with his open shirt, he turns back and buttons the shirt and takes his vest on, tries to comb his hair with his fingers but it falls immediately back, he sighs and continues to the living room to see a pirate woman, and he stops at the door*  What gives me the honour of your visit?

O’Malley:  ‘Ello Inspector Abberline.  I came te congratulate ye an’ Kat on the new addition te yer family.  I brought a few things fer Chiana as well … nothing much, just some little outfits an’ a toy.  *She picks up the package from the coffee table, gets up from the sofa and approaches Abberline; hands him the package, smiles*  I ‘ope ye can use it.

Abberline:  You are Grace O'Malley, aren't you?  I am sorry, I have been a bit confused ... *smiles at her and takes the package, opens it, sighs with relief when he sees the beautiful clothes, no emerald green baby pirate gear*  Thank you.  Thank you very much.  *confused, brushes his hair off his face once more nervously, not really knowing what to say*  Would you like to see her?

O'Malley:  Aye, I am Grace O'Malley.  *smiles reassuringly*  No worries, mate.  I imagine ye 'ave a lot on yer mind with a little new one.  I take it ye 'aven't heard that Donnie and I plan te be married on October 31st ... in fact, seein' 'ow ye used te work with Donnie an' Kat is a fellow pirate, we were 'oping the pair o' ye would be witnesses.  But I reckon things are a bit hectic at this particular juncture.  I'd love te see the little girl, though.

Abberline:  Witnesses?  Us?  Really?  *smiles, relaxes somewhat*  A pirate and a cop, yes, that would be rather fitting.  Why not, but I'll have to ask Kat first, though I don't think she would have anything against it.  *turns to go up the stairs, holding the gifts*  Come and take a look at Chiana.  I am sure that you haven't seen a more beautiful baby ever.

O'Malley *follows him upstairs* O' course, jus' let us know when you've 'ad a chance te talk te Kat.  *He leads her into Chiana's room; cautiously peeks into the crib, smiles*  Oh, such a beautiful little princess.

Abberline *crouches down to look closer at Chiana*  Yes, I will do that ... *he takes her tiny hand carefully in his fingers looks at her small fingers with the tiniest fingernails, and he completely forgets his guest*

O'Malley *sees that Abberline is gone to the world and only has eyes for little Chiana; she smiles and pats him on the shoulder; quietly*  Cheers mate, I'll leave ye te the little one then.  *Tips her hat*  Good-day Inspector.  *Goes back down the stairs and leaves Bournemouth House.*

At the Wonkas’ factory:

Manouche *riding Peire, arrives in front of the factory, brings the horse through the main gates.  She slides off his back, brings him to an oompa, who smiles only slightly because it's Manouche and he knows to expect the unexpected from her.  She grins*  Take care of 'im, mate, cheers.  *she digs in her pocket, brings out a few cocoa beans, hands them to the oompa, his smile broadens, he takes Peire around to another part of the courtyard.  She walks up to the main door, rings the bell*

Madame *opens the door slightly, peeks out, smiles with a sigh*  Manouche … *opens the door all the way and hugs her tightly*  I'm so happy to see you again.

Manouche *hugs her back*  Ahh, Madame, sweet girl, it’s good t’ see ye, too, it’s been too long.  *holds her out, looks at her, smiles*  No worries, luv, whatever comes, we’ll get through it, savvy?  That’s what I told ye th’ first time we went through this, an’ it holds jus’ as true today.  So try not t’ fret, an’ let’s find out th’ answers.  *holds up a brown paper bag containing a pregnancy test*  Two tests in ‘ere, luv.  Ye can do ‘em both, jus’ to be sure.  *grins*  I bought ‘em at Grape’s.  No doubt th’ rumor mill’s flyin’ about me now!

Madame *grins*  Fantabulous.  Come in, come in.  It's getting colder out these days.  *shuffles Manouche inside, shuts the door, walks up to the master suite with Manouche*  So how is Blake?

Manouche *blinks back tears, beams*  Oh, Madame, luv, he’s back!  I mean … he’s been back fer a time now, but … well, it’s a long story, but he’s fine, he’s right as rain.  He didn’t know me straight away, it were so horrible.  But all’s well, he’s restin’ up from his experience.  Blimey, we’ve got so much t’ catch up on.  Once he’s sound, we’ll all ‘ave to go to Chez Roux again, make up fer lost time, as it were.  *they enter the suite, go to the doorway leading to the bath.  Manouche hands Madame the bag*  ‘Ere ye are.  *leans in, kisses her on the cheek*  Good luck t’ ye.  Do th’ test an’ come on back out ‘ere, an’ we’ll wait fer th’ results together, like we did last time.  *smiles warmly*

Madame *feels a lump in her throat, swallows hard, nods, then closes the door to the bathroom.  After a few minutes, she returns with the test in hand*  I cant believe I'm doing this again … how long does it take to show results, did you say?

Manouche *shrugs*  About ten minutes.  An’ they’re usually th’ longest ten minutes of a woman’s life, aren’t they?  *smiles; takes the test from Madame, sets it on a table; brings her to the small sofa near the window facing the sea, sits her down; opens the window, gazing at the view*  Sure is a beautiful view th’ pair o’ ye ‘ave from this suite.  *turns to her, sits down next to her*  So how’s everyone ‘ere, luv?  How’s me brother, an’ how are them bonnie children?  *grins*  I ‘ave a feelin’ that Chase is a handful.  Don’t know what makes me think that, I jus’ do.

Madame *grins, reaches into coat pocket and takes out her spare glasses, cracked and broken*  A bit.

Manouche *laughs*  I knew it!  She’ll be a pirate, mark me words … we jus’ won’t tell Willy.  *pauses, knowing they’re both thinking about the test, tries to think of other things to talk about*  How’s th’ place in Malibu?  An’ we ‘ave to plan somethin’ soon, ‘ave ye all out to th’ house, ay?  I ‘ave horses now, did I tell ye, they’re th’ prettiest things ye ever seen.  I rode one of ‘em over today, figured it’d be a good giggle to see what Willy thinks of ‘avin’ a horse at th’ factory …  *glances at the clock, looks at Madame, smiles reassuringly*  Jus’ a few more minutes, luv …

Madame *swallows, tries to relax*  The vacation house is doing excellent.  We took the children down a few weeks ago for a few days.  Willy needed to get away from work for awhile.  We were going to go down last weekend, but we were told paparazzi have begun to swarm the area.  We have to stay clear until they go away.  *rolls eyes*  They're so annoying.  *pauses*  You bought your horse with you?!  Oh Manouche let me ride him later?  PLEASE?  I haven’t gone horseback riding in the longest time.  We were thinking of buying a few for when the children get older.  *glances at her watch*

Manouche:  ‘Course ye can ride ‘im, luv!  I ‘ave to warn ye, though, I ‘aven’t got a saddle on ‘im yet, an’ he’s still a bit wild.  So unless yer accustomed t’ ridin’ bareback, ye might want t’ give me a few more weeks with ‘im first.  Or we could ride 'im together, ye could sit in front o' me.  He knows me, I'm sure I could keep 'im behavin'.  An' he's bloody big, so there'd be room fer us both on his back.  Better still, ye could come to th’ house an’ ride Blodwyn.  She’s th’ mare, an’ she’s gentle as can be.  It’s up to you.  If nothin' else, I'll at least introduce ye to 'im after we're done 'ere, he's a beauty.  *pauses, looks at clock*  I, ah, I got a taste fer th’ paparazzi recently when I went t’ that lovely new restaurant … blimey, that’s a strange phenomenon t’ get used to, I’m not sure what t’ make of it.  I’m hopin’ in my case it will ‘ave died down, seein’ as how lottery winners become old news fast.  *nods toward the test on the table, smiles a little anxiously*  It’s time, luv.  Would ye like me to read it fer ye, or would ye like to ‘ave at it?

Madame:  I'll ride them both bareback, Manouche.  Trust me, I grew up on a horse farm.  It's practically in my blood.  *laughs*  Just avoid them, Manouche.  When we go together, I'm sure they're going to want pictures of the lottery winner and the chocolate factory owners.  *rolls eyes.  Glances at the test, hugs herself tight*  You do it.

Manouche:  Right, ‘ere goes.  *picks up the test, examines it carefully; nods, looks at Madame*  Negative.  *grins*  Prob’ly good news, considerin’ th’ current size o’ th’ Wonka family.

Madame: *tears form in her eyes, hugs Manouche tightly*  Thank you.  Thank you so much. *calls for Willy in thought* Willy, love, come to the master living room suite please

Willy: Be there in a jiffy *finishes up his work in his office, comes out dragging the crib with the triplets inside, all are laughing and giggling as Chase continues to throw a stuffed animal at Willy.  He catches it and tosses it back.*  Cut it out, girl.  *As if understanding, Chasline grins.  Willy finishes pulling it out of his office, he turns and instantly becomes wide eyed*  Manouche!  *walks over, hugs her to the point she can barely breath*  Oh my god...Manouche. ...

Manouche *gasps for breath, returns his hug*  Ahh, Willy, brother!  *he releases her, and she beams at him*  I'm happy t' announce that ye remain th' father o' three, mate ... no more, an' no less.  *laughs, wipes tears from her eyes*  Bloody 'ell, it's so good t' see ye both.  Mr. Blake is home, recoverin', an' I were jus' tellin' Madame that we're in desp'rate need o' plannin' a dinner date at Chez Roux fer th' four of us, th' sooner the better.  Do we 'ave an accord?

Willy *smile fades, he stares at Madame*  You’re not pregnant?  *Madame shakes head, smiling.  He grins, walks over, thanks god, then kisses her deeply*

Madame *returns the kiss, then pulls away, whispers in his ear*  Later ...

Willy *smirks, then turns back to Manouche*  Sure, sis.  When?

Manouche:  Oh, not sure, let’s give Mr. Blake a chance t’ recuperate, an’ we’ll go from there.  Per’aps in a few days or so.  *sees Willy’s smirk, arches brow*  An’ now that th’ scare is over, I trust I don’t need t’ shake the admonishin’ finger an’ lecture th’ pair o’ ye on bein’ careful, right?  *folds her arms across her chest, looks at them expectantly – pardon the expression, lol!*

Willy:  Oh no not at all.

Madame *clears her throat, smiles innocently*  So about that horse, where is the fellow?

Willy:  Horse?

Manouche *looks at Madame, smirks*  Not bad, fer an almost innocent smile, luv.  *turns to Willy, is about to speak, when she looks past him; stares, eyes wide, as she sees Peire trots into the room, closely followed by an alarmed oompa, who has obviously lost control over the animal*  Ahhhh.  Aye, Willy, mate.  Horse.  *points over his shoulder*  THAT horse, t’ be precise.  *smiles disarmingly, looks nervous as Peire nuzzles the back of Willy’s neck*  Peire, no!  Retreat, mate.  Se reculer, s'il vous plait!  *the horse backs up slightly, stands calmly, swishing his tail*

Willy *screams, jumps back, nearly falling over the sofa*  WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!

Madame *she and the children begin to laugh*  Oh my!!!  He's beautiful!  *walks over and carefully pets his head*

Willy *stares at the oompa, glaring*  How the HELL did it get up here?

Oompa:  I wouldn't ask, Master.  *Willy shakes head, mouth agape at the large animal in his living room*

Manouche *quickly comes to Peire’s other side, tries not to laugh, looks at Willy very seriously*  Apologies, luv.  Looks like he got away.  But he’s quite harmless, I promise ye … quite friendly, really.  An’ look!  It appears that he fancies ye, ain’t that lovely?  *smiles as Peire stretches his head toward Willy; her smile fades as he nibbles the carnation on Willy’s coat lapel*  Ahh, I’ll replace that, of course …

Willy *slowly tries to move back more as Peire's head gets closer and closer as he eats the carnation.  Willy finally takes it off and gives it to Peire*  Just ... Just take it ....

Madame *giggles*  Relax love, he's not going to harm you.  *Chaseline laughs loudly, then shrieks*  Bring her over.

Willy *stands up, dusting off his coat.  He walks over to the crib and picks up Chase, who tries to pull towards the horse.  Willy holds her back and walks over, close enough so he begins to pet him*  Just like this Chasey, very lightly.  *takes her hand and shows her, Chaseline mimicks, giggling the entire time*  Manouche, take Will!  Kim, I think Jacob would like to play too.

Madame *walks over, picks up Jacob, then walks back, places him on Peire’s back, holding onto him as he pats his head and claps his hands*  Good, Jacob.  You’re on the horsie!!!

Manouche:  Peire’s a big fellow, he can handle two.  *she brings Will over, places him on Peire’s back, behind Jacob, holding him; Will looks a little worried for a second, then Peire snorts, whinnies softly, and Will giggles.  Manouche laughs, looks at Willy and Madame*  I think they’re all goin’ t’ take to horseback ridin’ jus’ fine, luvs, like their mum.  *grins at Willy*  That jus’ leaves you, mate.

Willy:  OOOOOOOOHHHHHH no!  No no no.  Horseback is all Madame.  *Chaseline shrieks again with joy, pulling her father's hair*  No no no Chase, stop it!  *pries his hair loose, lets her pet Peire again*

Manouche *raises eyebrows*  What, ye mean t’ tell me ye’ll stay back home as yer entire family’s ridin’ off on their trusty steeds?  Ye’ll be in big trouble once yer kids are old enough t’ tease ye about bein’ afraid!  *laughs as Peire swings his head around, nuzzles Willy again*

Madame:  Darling, she is right, you know.  Besides, everyone who is anyone is doing it these days.  Horseback riding is quite the elegant sport.

Willy:  Yes yes, with all the mud flying in your face that's quite elegant.

Madame:  Dear thats for racing.  We don't do that.

Willy:  Oh.  Well .... in that case ... maybe

Manouche *to Willy*  I ‘ave a feelin’ once ye try it, we’ll ‘ave a hard time pryin’ ye off th’ horse, mate.  *gives Will a hug as he stretches his hand down to pat the horse’s back.  She turns to Madame*  I’m glad th’ test results were as ye wished, luv.  Seems t’ me ye ‘ave more than enough t’ keep ye occupied without addin’ to th’ mix.  *looks back at Will and Jacob*  So, now that we’ve averted th’ potential crisis, I should be on me way.  Mr. Blake’s home at last, an’ … I want t’ be there when he wakes up.  *beams*

Madame:  We want to be there, Manouche ...

Willy:  Can we?  Please?  Us and the children?

Manouche:  Blimey … well … aye, I reckon he may enjoy bein’ surrounded by loved ones after his first good rest.  Be prepared fer it t' be a short visit, in case he's still tired, he's been through so much.  But I know he'll be glad t' see ye.  How ‘bout th’ lot of ye come out in one o’ yer cars?  'Ave Cameron drive ye … *looks at Madame, smiles*  Except you, Madame.  Ye can ride on Peire, with me.  Savvy?

At From Hell Court:

Alex *from the other side of the door*  I may know of a spell that could restore Loralee’s memory ….

Delano *in the small, dark room; gets up from the chair and opens the door, looks at Alex carefully*  Really?  You can do that?

Alex *quickly enters the room before Delano changes his mind; casually slumps into the armchair*  If I have enough magic in me to bring her back, I’m sure I can manage a simple memory spell ….

Delano *closes the door and looks at Alex in his chair with annoyance*  I guess that’s true … *glances at the list of Corso’s hideouts*  Do you need me for the spell?  If not, then you can work on that while I go look for her.  With a little luck, our timing will match.

Alex:  No, no, you can go ahead and go look for her.  I’ll try to hurry with the spell.

Delano *nods*  Great.  *He opens the door again and is about to leave, then turns*  And thank you, I appreciate your help.

Alex *after Delano has left; muttering to himself*  Jeez, all that interaction with humans is rubbing off on him!  *He finds an old book of his and flips through the pages looking for a spell to restore Loralee’s memory, but then it dawns on him … if she can’t remember who Delano is or who she was, and thinks that he is nothing more than an evil vampire and she nothing but a meal to him, then Delano will have to turn her in order to make her stay with him.  Then maybe all this nonsense can be over, and he can treat humans the way they should be treated; as prey.  He lies down on the bed, smiling, pleased with his plan.*

At DeeDee’s apartment:

DeeDee *to Malachi, as they approach her apartment*  Oh sure, I was going to see my sister some day.  I want to see him myself, but I doubt that anyone could be as hot as you.  *smiles mischievously*  I could tell him that Daphne sends her regards.  So you like my little dress, eh?  *laughs as he pulls her closer, sticks her tongue in his ear*  It's not far … *fumbles for keys from her purse, opens the door to the apartment, where everything is black and white, there are no decorations except one huge poster on the wall - DeeDee modeling for Hottest Swimsuits in a miniature diamond bikini.  DeeDee slumps to the sofa, lifting her long legs in the tight black boots on the coffee table and beckons him to join her*  Make yourself comfortable, love.  So, do you like what you see?

Malachi *nods*  You women, always acting like you have to be told.  I’ve never met a dame yet who didn’t know how good-looking she was.  What the hell, I’ll go along with it … sure, I like what I see.  *grins, turns to look at the poster*  Shy, aren’t you?  *glances around, sees a small table with various bottles and glasses, goes over to pour drinks for them both; brings glasses back to the sofa, sits next to her, hands her a glass, puts his hand on her leg*  And you like what you see, too, eh?  *flutters his long eyelashes mockingly, his smile broadens when she laughs*  It would be great fun for you to drop by and tell Abberline that Daphne sends her regards … *smile fades slightly*  But maybe you better not.  I’ve promised a friend that I wouldn’t give him a hard time.  *shrugs*  Anyway, he’ll get himself in enough trouble on his own, without any help from the outside.  He always does.  *takes a drink, shakes his head as if to clear it, then turns to her, his fingers squeezing her leg, running his hand up higher on her thigh*  I suggest we change the subject, beautiful.  I don’t see any reason to talk about him anymore.  *sets his drink down, takes hers from her, sets it next to his, pushes her back against the sofa, murmurs*  Three’s a crowd, savvy?  *kisses her hard on the lips*

DeeDee *inhaling deeply when he touches her leg, stares him in his beautiful brown eyes, liking indeed everything she sees, and she likes even more what he does, she returns greedily the kiss*  I have a better suggestion, handsome, let's quit talking for a while and do something instead.  *arches her back and presses her body against his*

Malachi:  We have an accord … silence is golden.  *he pulls her close, kisses her again, deeply, slides his hand up, skillfully pulls at the strings at the front of her corset top, opening it slightly.  He brings his arms around her, crushes her against him, brings his mouth to her ear, whispers*  I don’t suppose this is a sofa bed?  *slides his lips down, kisses her neck*

DeeDee *out of breath*  Beds are used for sleeping *pulls his shirt out, slides her both hands up his back, then downwards till his belt, murmurs*  Ease off your clothes, I will see to it that it's going to be hot ...

Malachi *his mouth on hers, removes his shirt, brings his hands inside her corset, pulls it down, his voice husky*  Far be it for me to argue with a lady …

*voice off-stage*  Oh Mr. DuBoiiiis ……..

Director DuBois *rolls eyes, throws his hands up, frustrated*  CUT!!!!

At Corso’s apartment:

Loralee *wanders about the apartment for a while hoping to find something she recognizes, some sign of her life.  After a while, she gives up and instead picks out a book from the overfilled shelf.  She makes herself comfortable on the couch, pulls the blanket over her legs, begins reading*

At From Hell Court / at Corso’s apartment:

Delano *quickly checks the hideouts in From Hell Court that Manouche put on the list, but to his disappointment all of the places are empty.  He decides to check if Corso has brought Loralee to Chateau Blanchefort, even though Manouche said it was unlikely, but none of the other hideouts paid off and a little peek at the castle can’t hurt.  He begins making his way out of From Hell Court, but as he passes an apartment building near the outskirts of the area, he senses something.  He pauses and listens for any familiar sounds; he scans his surroundings, but sees or hears no one.  He shrugs, thinking it was nothing, and continues on his way, but he is still drawn to that building.  He turns and goes back, tries to focus his senses and soon he is certain Loralee is near.  He has always been able to sense whenever she was near; it is less strong now, but it’s still there.  He looks up at the building and notices that the lights are on in the penthouse apartment; he jumps up and gets a hold of the fire escape and climbs up, very quickly reaching the penthouse apartment*

Loralee *looks up from the book with a start as she hears a sound; at first she doesn’t know where the sound comes from, but when she hears it again, she turns her gaze towards the glass door in the living room leading to the small balcony.  She jumps when she sees a dark figure standing outside the window.  Slowly she puts down the book on the table, pushes away the blanket and rises from the couch.  She cautiously approaches the door and despite Corso’s warnings, feels a sense of relief when seeing it’s Delano.*  What do you want?

Delano *smiles*  I am so glad that I found you!  You don’t need to fear me, I won’t do you any harm.  *lowers his eyes*  I just want to talk to you.

Loralee *looks at him suspiciously; he is a vampire so she shouldn’t trust him, but at the same time, there is something strangely familiar about him.  Knowing that he is potentially very dangerous, she is still afraid.  But she steadies herself and tries to make her voice sound steady and confident.*  We can talk. But you must stay outside …

Delano:  That’s fine … I can’t get inside unless you invite me.  *He sits down on the floor of the balcony just outside the glass door*

Loralee *Hesitates, but then sits down on the floor of the apartment*  Oh, I see … *looks at him with curiosity*  In the forest you claimed that we used to know each other, please tell me more.

Delano *wonders if the truth will be too much for her, but decides she has to know sooner or later; speaks softly*  That necklace you’re wearing, I bought that for you … we were in Prague.  I had it engraved for you as well; With love, Delano.

Loralee *touches the necklace, holds it up and turns it; her eyes grow wide as she reads the inscription on the back … With love, Delano.  She stares at him for a moment, then rises from the floor and with a trembling hand opens the glass door.*  I invite you in …

At Bournemouth House:

Candy *Outside Bournemouth House retrieving the tools from her attempted warding.  Concerned because there's been no sign of her success.  Worriedly picking up the last of the black candles.  Casting a look of despair towards the house.  This is her last chance to be accepted by her superiors but even worse, this time there was a feeling of evil lurking and real danger to her charge*

Abberline *starts as Chiana opens her eyes and lets out a cry, turns too look at O'Malley, but notices she is gone, then he looks worried at Chiana, wondering if she's hungry again.  Now how often do babies feed?  And where did Candy get that bottle from?  He goes to Candy's room but she's not there, he goes out in the hall, starting to get nervous, listening to the small noises Chiana makes*  Candy?  Where are you?  Chiana needs something!

Candy *Having heard on the stairs Abberline's call*  I'm here.  *Smiles reassuringly*  Everything’s fine.  *Continues into Chiana's room to her crib places a gentle hand on her soothingly.  Glances back at Abby, who has followed her in*  She needs changing, is all.  *Several minutes later, she has her changed and cooing.*

Abberline *admiring her handling the baby*  Can I hold her now, I want you to show how.  You've been here only one day and I already understand that we would not be able to manage without you.  I am very pleased that you found us.  *smiles at her warmly*  I don't know anything about babies.

Candy:  You'll do fine.  You handled her very well earlier.  The main thing is supporting her head.  You're her father, you can hold her anytime you wish.  Maybe you' like to take her for her daily outings.  I see there's a very nice carriage for her.

Abberline:  Out?  Can I take her out already?  *notices the clothes O'Malley brought and remembers her wedding plans*  Yes, I want to take her out, but I just remembered something.  *casts a look at Chiana, then goes to the master bedroom*  Kat, Grace O'Malley was here, she's getting married with Donnie and I promised that we will be their witnesses.  Oh, and you said you had something important to say.  I promise I will be listening better now, I am all attention.  *lights a cigarette and looks at her expectantly*

Kat *Sheepishly*  Aye I be 'avin' somethin' te say.  Problem is I don't know 'ow. I know we be of differin' minds on many thin's.  We argue and clash sometimes 'urtin' each other.  It be not what I want but it just is.  I can't 'elp it.  I been always on me on e'en when I were with someone I ne'er e'en realized it before now.  I was ne'er afeard of bein' alone or e'en loneliness till you.  *Hesitates*  I 'ave somethin' for ye.  *Handing him a brown envelope.*  These be the papers selling out my interests in certain business interests in Deppville.  Kidd made the arrangements some time ago when she went off to tend to making the deal. I got the final papers today.  What I be tryin' te say is in spite of e'erythin', I love ye, Fred Abberline.  Only the thought of losin' ye leaves me fearin' loneliness.  There, I said it the best way I know 'ow.  *Turns away in embarrassment*  E'en if we end tomorrow, I'll be of the same mind.

Abberline *who has been waiting for something entirely different, puts out his cigarette, takes her chin in his hand and turns her towards himself, very moved of what she's willing to do for him, hugs her tightly for a long time*  Kat, I don't know what to say ... I would never abandon you, you have made my life worth living, and you have brought me two wonderful children.  Kat, I love you just the way you are ... *kisses her gently* … till death do us part.

Kat *Laying her head on his shoulder, sighs*  Do ye?  But 'ow can ye?  E'erythin' 'bout me be either

irritatin' ye or causin' ye grief.

Candy *Appears at the door, hesitates*  I'm sorry, am I interrupting?  I just wanted to ask if I might do

some shopping for Chiana.  I can come back later.  *Starts to turn away*

Kat:  No wait, it's alright.  I think we're done now.  *Looks at Abby*

Abberline:  No, that's not at all how it is, you have given me a reason to live.  *kisses her*  You can irritate me till death do us part ... Get a good rest and let Miranda and Candy take care of the baby and the household.  *to Candy*  Yes, of course you can go shopping for Chiana, just tell them to send the bills to me.  *rises up, takes the envelope, turns to go*  Oh, and one more thing.  Two is enough.  I won't ever put you through all that again.  *and with a smile he goes downstairs and opens the envelope, and his eyes go wide as he realizes how much Kat was involved in businesses with, how to put it nicely, odd names - The Woo Hoo Bar, Badonkadonk Club, and the shop he knows so well, Vicky's Dirty Little Secrets, and she has given up all them for him ... He nods to himself, knowing that he has made the right decision and heads towards From Hell Court*

At DeeDee’s apartment:

Malachi *wakes up much later on the floor, forgetting for a moment where he is, then he looks at DeeDee, sound asleep next to him.  Gently moves some of her hair back from her face, smiles; she’s so beautiful.  He carefully moves away from her so he doesn’t wake her, stands up, stretches.  He wanders through the apartment, finds his way into the bathroom, sees another large portrait of her in another bikini.  He studies it for a moment, thinks again about their lovemaking, and congratulates himself on using “safety precautions”.  She had protested the slight interruption in proceedings, but he had insisted.  The last thing he needs is an unplanned Malachi Jr. running around Deppville, especially with DeeDee as the mum.  A woman who looks like her obviously seldom goes without male companionship unless that’s her preference.  And Malachi isn’t fool enough to think she would be content with just him and no one else in her life … and besides, they just met.  He splashes water on his face, goes back through the apartment, sees she’s still sleeping; goes into the small kitchen, finds what he needs to make coffee, gets it started; lights a cigarette, sits at the kitchen table, smiles.  Though they have just met, he has to admit, he likes her, even beyond the physical attraction.  She took his cynicism right in stride, and when she wasn’t playing games at being coy, he sensed that there may be an actual brain behind the good looks.  Time will tell, he thinks to himself with a shrug, as he waits for the coffee to finish brewing*

DeeDee *wakes up slowly as always in the mornings, stretches herself, and satisfied, she congratulates herself on the catch remembering the night.  It was so funny when he insisted on the protectives like she ever would want a kid and spoil her body and life ... She hears him in the kitchen, and very quietly she sneaks in to her bedroom and takes on one of her best finds at Vicky's Dirty Little Secrets, a tempting almost see-through morning robe, leaves it open, puts on her high heeled slippers, checks that her face is ok, applies some perfume called the Ultimate Temptation and walks slowly to the kitchen, sits on the kitchen table dangling her feet.  She takes his cigarette from his mouth and looks at his intense eyes*  Hello, handsome!  I see that you found your way in my kitchen, or should I rather say also in my kitchen ...

Malachi *laughs, finds another cigarette for himself, lights it*  Don’t you ever have your own smokes?  *runs a hand through his tousled hair, stands, pours coffee for them both, returns to the table.  Sets the steaming cups down, stands in front of her as she sits on the table; slides his hands inside her robe, pulls her close, kisses her slowly, languidly on the mouth, breathes in her perfume appreciatively*  So, what time do you have to be at work?  I suppose I should clear out of here, let you get ready …  *he runs his hands slowly up and down her back, to the curves of her hips*

DeeDee:  The smoke tastes better this way.  *and then she forgets it, because Malachi kisses her, she can see and feel that he's not a novice and that he has lots of experience, which makes him all the more tempting to her, he's hot and good looking - she could never date a guy who's not a looker, and she moves a little closer to him*  Aye, I suppose I should soon be ready to go to work, but that snotty bitch can wait till I get my breakfast first ... *pulls him closer and bites his ear, wraps her legs around him*

Malachi *gazes at her, his dark eyes smouldering*  Well, breakfast is the most important meal of the day … *he pushes her down on the table, kissing her passionately*

Ichy and Miranda

Ichy *walking with Miranda in the gardens*  I promised to take you to see Gunpowder, remember, when we were last time here.

Miranda *eyes shining*  Of course I do remember!  The flowers were in full bloom, and so were the meadows where we sat down, and we shared a kiss ...  I will never forget the day.

Ichy *coughs embarrassed, trying to keep some distance so that she wouldn't notice anything is amiss.  He promised Kat that he would wait patiently and bide his time and pretend being still in love with Miranda, he leads her to a fenced field where a lone horse starts to stare at them as they get close, it is fat and disfigured and there is a devilish glint in his eyes*  Here's Gunpowder, my trusty old horse.  He has been on pension now for some years.  I use to come and see him now and then.  *tries to give the horse a roll and a carrot, but Gunpowder just snorts, and looking vicious attempts to snap at Ichy's fingers with huge yellow teeth*

Miranda *backs a few steps*  Oh, I see.  Why isn't he with the other horses?

Ichy *tries to clap it on the neck, but the horse turns his side on him, his eyes inviting to try anything foolish and he will kick ... *  Er, yes, that was Gunpowder.  He prefers privacy, you see … *he was too evil to be kept with the other horses ... *  Look, it's beginning to be late, I should take you back home.

Miranda *remembering Kat's words tries to hide her disappointment*  Oh, of course.  You must have a busy schedule defending and saving victims of crime all the time.

Ichy *trying not to show how pleased he is for Miranda not trying to jump on him*  I would love to stay with you longer, but I can't.  *pretending to be sad, takes her hand*  I promised the Inspector that you would be at home in good time.

Miranda:  With the new baby, he wouldn't notice anything in a few days.

Ichy:  But Kat will need you.

Miranda *with a sigh*  Yes ... When will I see you again?

Ichy:  As soon as possible.  *sighs, he really is counting time till that day when he can save Kat from her unfortunate marriage and he and Kat will be able finally to leave this place for good ...*  Miranda.  I have got something very important to say.

Miranda *stops and turns to look at him, barely hiding her excitement*  Yes?

Ichy *takes a note from his pocket where he, like a good Virgo, has meticulously written down all the important points of Don's lesson:  break it gently without her getting upset ...*  Miranda, I admire you greatly and I have loved our dates, but … *give her a hint that you are not ready*  but I am still so confused by all this *tell her you don't want to go past dating ...*  I do want to take you out.  *you don't want to rush, you want to get to know her better* … but I don't want to rush into anything serious right away, this is much too important for me, and I want to learn to know you better.  *let's see, next about regret and loss* … and I don't want you to have to regret anything.  I would not want to lose you, but I am not ready yet … *now how was it ...  yes, tell her you are still hurt*  I am still hurting, and I can't take another relationship gone wrong .. *thanks, Don*

Miranda:  The only thing I regret is all the time I am not in your company.  I will nurse you back and you will never again be hurt again by anyone, my dear.  *reaches up and kisses him*  I understand your words …  *sighs, disappointed*  I just want to live, and I feel like I want it all right away, but I know now that you are thinking about my best.  *at the doorstep, she blows him a kiss and vanishes inside*

Ichy *sighs too, very relieved*

At Pink Perfection:

DeeDee *takes a break from Lady Cynthia, goes out to have a smoke, looks at the shop window where the emerald green pirate dress is again on display, and she frowns as she looks at the sign.  The name Pink Perfection is so badly outdated, precisely something a snobbish Brit lady would invent ... She starts to think of a better name that would not scare half of the female population away.  Fashion Mistress?  Or better still, Fashion Pirates?  She laughs as she imagines the Lady's expression.  Maybe she could persuade Daddy to change the name ... Her thoughts are interrupted by a young thudworthy man in a tattered sleeveless t-shirt and with hot tattoos on his arms*  Hello, are you looking for something?

Charlie *stops, amazed, looks at the tall gal with platinum blonde hair and a perfect body with very long legs ... stammers*  Ahh, no, I am not ...

DeeDee:  We do sell for guys too, dearie, and I happen to have something especially for you.  *touches his arm, traces a tattoo with her long fingernails, purrs in a low seductive voice*  I am sure it would be worth to take a look at.  You won't be disappointed, honey ....

At Bournemouth House:

*Truck from DPS (Deppville Parcel Service) pulls up in front of Bournemouth House, driver emerges, sets box in front of the door, rings bell; returns to truck, drives to next delivery.  The box contains two packages, and a letter from Manouche*

Dear Kat and Fred,

Enclosed are special gifts for a very special baby.  I thought carefully about what to get for Chiana.  All the usual items, though always welcome and needed, just didn’t seem quite unique enough.  So I talked to Alifi awhile back, and she advised me.  These are items I found during my recent travels, just for Chiana, and I’ve kept them, waiting for the right time.  Alifi assures me that these are gifts she’ll put to great use, with her abilities, sooner or later.  Alifi says some healer children start as early as pre-teen, and we’ve already seen examples of Chiana’s healing powers.  So, considering that we may have a prodigy on our hands, I’ve gathered together some aids for her.  One box contains a fine crystal ball, just for her.  The other box has a collection of crystals, and a list describing their uses.  They have never been used by anyone before, so Chiana can infuse them with her own magic.  They’re all general healing crystals except for one, which is rare – you’ll see that it’s wrapped separate from the others, and it’s my special gift to her.  It’s an Atlantean crystal, quartz from the society of Atlantis.  It’s a universal conduit and has great healing power, used primarily for removing negative energy.  I was given to understand that it can be an amazing device in the hands of a true healer, so I know our Chiana will put it to good use.  I look forward to the day when we can see what she does with these; given the way she accelerated her own gestation period, we may not have to wait long.

It’s also my pleasure to report that Mr. Blake is back home safe and sound, and needless to say, we’re both very happy.  We want to have you come to the house sometime soon for a visit, maybe dinner, and of course please bring Chiana and Raven.  Hope this finds everyone well, love to you all,

Manouche

Miranda *hears the bell in the kitchen and opens the door to see the packages, she picks them up and goes to Kat, curious of what they could contain*  Look, you got a special delivery and a letter!  Wonder who is it from?  *Looks at her expectantly, starts to talk*  I met Ichy today and I tried to act like you said, not pushing him, and he said that he was very serious and this was so important to him that he didn't want to do anything in a rush.  And he said that he doesn't want to lose me ever.  I think he has gone to choose an engagement ring for me, do you agree?  Sometimes he's just so quiet and serious, like he weren't listening at all, like he had something else in his mind.  I can't think of anything else but him, Kat!

Kat:  I be most certain ye did well, luv.  *Opens the letter and smiles as she reads, then frowns near the end glances up the stairs; thinks, progressed her own gestation period, we may not have to wait long’?  Shakes her head*  Surely not.  *Opening the box, she gasps at the various gems.  Then her eyes are drawn to the emerald.  Lifts it up and admires it, smiles*  Aye, a most wondrous gift indeed.

Miranda *eyes widen as she sees the contents*  How beautiful!  What a curious gift to a newborn baby.  *sighs*  You are so lucky to have a husband who loves you and two wonderful children.  *stares at the stones*  Do they bring luck?  Will I someday be as happy as you?

Kat *Holding the emerald up to the light. Distractedly*  I be certain ye will, luv.

Candy *Having descended the stairs draws near, notices the contents of the box, nods approvingly.  Turns to Kat, who's still admiring the emerald in the light, her sleeve having slipped on her arm, revealing the tattoo.  Candy stares at it startled.*  That tattoo, how long have you had it?

Kat *Immediately lowers her arm to cover the tattoo.  Glares at Candy*  That's bein' no concern of yers.

Candy:  I'm sorry, of course it's not.  I was only curious, it's so unusual.  I'd better see to Chiana.  *Retreats back up the stairs wonders if she should report this.  Even the Elders must see this is more than it first appeared and hopefully not view it as another failure on her part.*

At From Hell Court:

Abberline *decides to start his quest from the port.  The Apparition is still gone, and all the pirates he asks about it seem to know absolutely nothing and no one has seen anything at all.  Annoyed, he goes to From Hell Court and starts with a dirty small tavern favoured by pirates, gypsies and unfortunates - a place where he himself has been many times drinking himself into oblivion.  He goes to the bar and orders a brandy, a cheap sort that the low life of From Hell Court can afford, and he makes a grimace as he tastes it.  Some years ago he wouldn't even have noticed any taste at all, just like these seamen and poor women around him.*

Abberline *to the barkeep*  Have you seen Jaime?  Anyone of the Apparition's crew?

Barkeep *suspiciously*  What're you asking that for?  Hasn't been here.  Don't know nothing.  Apparition's gone and yer knows it.

Abberline *lights a cigarette and offers the barkeep one, sighs*  Yes, I know it.  And you should know me.  You are a miserable liar for a barkeep.  *puts some notes on the bar table and when the barkeep reaches his hand to snatch them, he slams his hand on them*  The Apparition.  Where is it?

At Corso’s apartment:

Delano *enters the apartment; he leads Loralee to the couch and they both sit down.  He tells her everything … tells her how she was in love with LaCroix, even though he did not love her, and how she as a vampire killed him and his child and how jealousy and thirst for revenge drove her insane.  Delano talks of how he met her hundreds of years ago in a dark alley in Paris where she sired him for his eternal life.  Finally, he tells her how she had mistaken Manouche for Danielle, LaCroix’s love, and had kidnapped Blake – and how everything went wrong; Blake had killed Loralee and Delano had in turn killed Blake and made him one of their own kind.  He finishes by telling how he and Alex had brought her back from the dead.*

Loralee *has listened to Delano intently as images of her past life enters her mind; she looks at him with a frightened expression; whispers*  I remember now … all the people, I can hear them scream, see their frightened faces … and I feel sorry for them …  *She rises from couch and places her hand on her throat; turns and looks at Delano*  My heart; I can feel my heart beating in my chest … I don’t think I like being a human.

Delano *gazing at her; wondering to himself if her mind has become even sicker than it was before Blake killed her.*  I didn’t know you’d come back as a human … we weren’t even sure the ritual would work.

Loralee *sits back down; gazing at him curiously*  Yet you tried the ritual … how come?

Delano *gently takes her hand*  Because I missed you … my dark queen.

Loralee *feels the coolness of his skin as he touches her hand; it makes her long for him and at the same time, she knows it can’t be. He’s a vampire and she’s human; gazes into his eyes pleadingly*  Turn me, Delano.  Make me a vampire again, please!  I wouldn’t know how to be a human in this world; everything seems foreign to me …

Delano *Confused*  But this is your chance; you’re getting a second chance at life!

Loralee *brings her hand to his cheek and gently caresses it; smiles lovingly*  And I am choosing to give it up.  I would much rather have an eternal life with you; just as it was meant to be before … before I ruined it.  Don’t you see?  This is not my second chance at life; this is my second chance at an undead life with you!  Please do it!  *She tilts her head to the side; puts her hand on the back of Delano’s head pulling him towards her exposed neck.*

Delano *hesitates only a short moment before he morphs into his vampire-self and sinks his sharp fangs into her neck; as he drinks he feels the life oozing out of her, but just before it has left her completely, he withdraws.  She’s almost unconscious and has to lean against his chest.  He quickly makes a small bite on his wrist; lifts her face and allows her to drink from the wound before her last breath leaves her.*
